The YMCA Understands Children
Ensuring children are in quality care is important to all parents. Whether you're looking for care after school, or during the school holidays, you want your children to be safe. You also want your children to have opportunity to develop and have fun.
Core to the YMCA's approach to childcare is our focus on training high quality staff who actively role model positive behaviours and values to the children in their care. The Y employs only experienced and qualified staff to provide a safe, friendly and interactive environment. Activities are designed to be fun, while helping encourage the development of children that are caring, responsible, honest and respectful of others.
The Y is a leader in the provision of outside school hours care (after school and school holidays) in Northern Territory. We deliver Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) to children aged 5-12 years at over 9 locations including YMCA-managed aquatic and recreation centres, primary schools and community centres. As an experienced OSHC provider the Y meets the highest standards of quality assurance in our systems, facilities and programs.
Child Care Benefits (CCB) funded places are available at Y Outside School Hours Care programs. If you are unsure about your eligibility for CCB funding, your Y Outside School Hours Care staff can assist.
After School Care
Children who attend our After School Care will find fun, games, laughter and stimulating activities. Parents can have peace of mind knowing that their children are well cared for and engaged in safe, healthy activities after school. Children are also provided with a healthy and satisfying afternoon tea.
The school holidays can often seem to drag on - for kids and parents alike! Y Vacation Care makes holidays fun and exciting. With excursions, special events and a full program of activities catering for all ages, your children will be entertained throughout the holidays.
The Y OSHC program provides activities that assist with all aspects of a child's physical, intellectual and personal development. Activities include:
· Sports activities that develop physical fitness, hand eye coordination and good sportsmanship.
· Healthy eating and cooking programs that teach valuable life skills.
· Creative art projects that develop an appreciation of different cultures.
· Dance and drama activities that help children to make friends and express themselves.
All our programs are targeted to develop those interpersonal and social skills that are so important in later life.
