Healthy Eating For Kids
It can be frustrating when opening up your child's lunchbox at the end of the day to find the healthy componants untouched!
Here are a few idea's about how to 'mix it up' and make your childs' lunchbox exciting and healthy!
- use mountain bread and make pin-wheel style sandwhiches by spreading the ingredients over the bread, roll it up and cut into small peices, use a variety of different salads to creatre exciting colours.
- create your own fun and exciting snacks with your children, for example: fruit roll ups www.easyfunschool.com
- instead of a bag of potatoe chips or crackers/cookies, place a handful of home made popcorn on a paper towel and twist the ends.
- if you are worried about how little your child eats at lunch avoid packing milk drinks, they are high in calories and fill your child up without providing the right nutrients your child needs, instead substitute these with small portions of cheese or small yoghurt containers to ensure they are getting the reccommended dairy requirements.
